the vision
20 09 2009We wait on God to move in our lives, when often, in fact, it is God who is waiting on us.
In the summer of 2009 I spent four months away from my wife and three kids to learn a new trade. While away in Houston, TX, God spoke very clearly to me that it is no longer acceptable for me to not be pursuing opportunities to communicate to others what He has given me to speak.
I am writing a book on the subject of passionate spirituality.
Too many people, in my experience, religious or not, spend much of their lives wasting away on past failures, broken dreams, and empty vices. I am convinced that God desires for us not only to know our purpose/meaning in life, but He desires us to pursue that life with passion.
He desires for us to live life in process of becoming spiritually aware and passionately active participants in the Kingdom He is advancing on this planet.
Most of us have spent a good portion of our lives learning the good morals of Christianity. We even strive to teach our children how to live lives according to God’s will. But I am concerned that perhaps our focus on knowing God’s will “for your life” is not as important as knowing God’s desire for your life as it fits into the story He is telling worldwide.
These ideas of passionate spirituality and kingdom living are inexorably tied together. If we are to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ, then we are to be passionate co-workers with God in His Kingdom.
WIth this message, I have felt compelled to write, and now I feel compelled to speak of this truth to as many people, far and wide as possible. I am writing you, dear brothers and sisters to ask you to prayerfully consider having me come to speak to your churches or non-profits about this very thing…passionate spirituality.
I am married to my wife of twelve years, Rebecca, and am father to three small children. I sell roofs for a living as well as drive a bread delivery truck for extra work. I have no platform from which to share this message in my daily work. I am looking to you to give me an opportunity to begin creating a platform from which to begin sharing this message to people everywhere. If you have contacts, resources, or are willing to open your platform for me to speak this in your church, I would ask you to consider having me come.
We are hopeful that as God leads, it will also lead you to support this ministry through prayer. I have often gone back to 2 Corinthians 4:7 to remind me of who I am and what it means to be a “clayimage”.
“We have this treasure in jars of clay, (broken vessels) to show that this all surpassing power comes from God and not us.”
I am compelled to share this message of brokeness and passion relit. I welcome your counsel and prayers. I do know that this message of following God with a passionate spirit is one that will revolutionize people’s lives.
